Approach

I offer one-to-one psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy in a confidential setting. This form of therapy focuses carefully on what you bring, while seeking different ways of listening to, and understanding what those concerns might mean. This can help you develop a deeper understanding of your emotions, why you might behave in certain ways, and how this might affect your relationships. The aim is to address what's beneath the surface, so that long-lasting change can flourish.

There is a substantial body of evidence supporting this approach. The below paper not only discusses the effectiveness of psychodynamic psychotherapy but also emphasises the enduring benefits that continue to unfold beyond the therapy period. The Efficacy of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Shedler.

Further information on the efficacy and evidence base for psychoanalytically informed treatment can be found here on the British Psychoanalytic Councils website.

Typically I work with people in an open-ended format, often for extended periods, but I also offer shorter-term options. The sessions are 50-minutes in length and occur on a weekly basis.

We can work together in-person in my private consulting room in Golders Green, London, or remotely through online sessions or by phone.
